We bring a human touch to every treatment we pioneer. Join us and make a difference.

The new Bristol-Myers Squibb research site in Cambridge's Kendall Square will help us continue to deliver on our mission, positioning the company and our scientists in the heart of a vibrant ecosystem of world-class science, innovation, and business opportunities. The Mechanisms of Cancer Resistance (MoCR) Thematic Research Center (TRC) at BMS is one of the fundamental research and early development engines delivering oncology therapeutics to patients. The scientists at this state-of-the-art research and development site in Cambridge focus on novel tumor intrinsic targets and pathways for tumors that are refractory to current oncology therapies and implement our discovery platforms across all of our therapeutic areas of focus.

We seek a highly motivated, passionate, and collaborative scientist with demonstrated experience in oncology drug discovery and preclinical development to join BMS in Cambridge, MA. We are a fully integrated drug discovery and early clinical development organization which exploits state-of-the-art technologies to build a one-of-its-kind pipeline with the highest potential to meaningfully improve lives of cancer patients with the utmost clinical need. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tumor intrinsic biology, preclinical pharmacology, and mechanisms of response and resistance to cancer targeted therapies. In particular, experience in exploiting therapeutic vulnerabilities in DNA damage response pathways or cancer cell cycle is preferable but not necessary. The qualified candidate will lead drug discovery efforts and work closely with global cross-functional teams, including chemistry, in-vivo pharmacology, toxicology, DMPK and translational biology, to advance novel ideas from concept to clinic. S/he will manage an in vitro biology lab and supervise a team of associates to support their project responsibilities and contribute to team held objectives, including but not limited to investigation of drug mechanisms of action, pharmacodynamics readouts, and exploring therapeutic hypotheses. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to thrive in a matrix environment are required. The successful candidate will have the presentation skills to influence and inform scientific decisions at senior management, cross-functional or external meetings. The candidate will have opportunities to develop and foster external partnerships or academic collaborations to advance internal programs, as appropriate. BMS is committed to people development and we foster a learning environment to build scientific and leadership skills. In addition to leading scientific projects, candidate will also be able to participate in and lead site initiatives, and influence broader portfolio, strategic and business development decisions.
