We are seeking talented and motivated Ph.D synthetic/process chemists who is passionate about joining a world-class group of scientists in the pursuit of innovative therapies at our Alewife, MA location. The successful candidate will be skilled in the art of organic synthesis design and execution and familiar with modern synthetic methods. The candidate will have demonstrated success in executing on challenging synthetic routes to obtain target molecules troubleshooting reactions/purifications, and interpreting analytical data. The candidate will show an increasingly independent ability to design and implement synthetic routes and optimize reaction processes to make them amenable for scale-up at quantities ranging from a few grams to several hundreds of grams. Good communication skills and a naturally collaborative style are essential for this position.
  • Ph.D. with 3-10 years postgraduate experience.
  • Demonstrated record of productivity in organic chemistry research as evidenced by publications and/or patents.
  • A strong commitment to experimental work - skilled in multi-step synthesis, process optimization, purification, and characterization of organic compounds.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of state-of-the-art techniques in synthesis, purification, and spectroscopic characterization of novel compounds (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, etc.).
  • Proficient with SciFinder, ChemDraw, and other chemistry-related software.
  • General knowledge of process chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly integrated team environment.
  • Highly collaborative, self-motivated, team-oriented individual, with good computer skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to write peer-reviewed quality work or invention disclosures for patent applications, technical reports.
