Summary and Scope: 

Tempest Therapeutics is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented Senior Research Associate (Sr.RA) preferably with GxP experience to join our research and development team. The main role for this position is assay development and support of biomarker evaluation of subjects enrolled in Tempest-sponsored immunotherapy clinical trials. 

Responsibilities: (duties are not limited to the below and may evolve over time and change depending on business needs and individual’s expertise)  

  • SOP writing and maintenance 
  • Assay development and appropriate validation/qualification 
  • Maintain/update clinical sample database
  • Vendor management    
  • Perform routine immune assays (ELISA, Luminex, Flow Cytometry) on clinical biospecimens 
  • Represent team and present data at cross-functional project teams

Education & Experience:

  • B.S in Biology/Immunology or related major with at least 3-years laboratory experience. Prior biorepository experience a plus 
  • Experience working under SOPs, GxP environments a plus 
  • Experience with assay development and demonstration that assay fit for purpose 
  • Proficiency with cell isolation and related assays and methods including cellular phenotyping by multicolor flow cytometry and functional analyses using primary blood cells and cell lines 
  • Experience with human biological samples 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong organizational and effective time management skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities 
  • Familiarity with standard immune assays (ELISA, Luminex, Nanostring) 
  • Proficiency with GraphPad and/or JMP helpful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word) and database software
