The Cell Therapy Process Sciences and Technology team is seeking an individual to join its innovative, multi-disciplinary team focusing on non-viral, formulation-based gene delivery technologies. As a member of the Delivery and Editing Technology team, the individual will support the advancement of the T-cell engineering technologies for manufacturing immune-therapeutic products. This role will provide a challenging but rewarding opportunity for career development. A successful candidate is required to be well-versed in lipid/polymer-based formulation and screening, and aware of the limitations in ex-vivo and in-vivo applications.

Education and Experiences
  • PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline with 2+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industrial experience


Expertise and Skills
  • Strong expertise in non-viral nucleic acid delivery using at least one of the following drug delivery systems: lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), synthetic polymer-based drug delivery systems, polymer and/or lipid transfection reagents, nanoparticle functionalization and targeting
  • Deep understanding of cellular uptake mechanisms related to non-viral nucleic acid delivery
  • Extensive experience with transfection of mammalian cells; experience with primary cell types (PBMCs, T cells, stem cells, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of gene integration technologies (transposons, gene editing via homology-directed repair, etc)
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry analysis
  • Familiarity with statistical design of experiments (DoE)
