The Aging Therapeutic Focus Area is a starting core facility aimed at using zebrafish genetic models to discover novel targets and molecular mechanisms of interest to the various groups at Regeneron. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced research associate to join the Zebrafish Core to support our discovery and development efforts pertaining to mechanisms induced from biological experiments. It will be necessary to produce the various molecular constructs to generate the appropriate models for analysis.

On a day to day basis, an R&D Specialist in this role will:
• Establish and perform in-vivo and ex-vivo assays
• Develop zebrafish models to study a variety of disease-relevant perturbations
• Generate CRISPR/Cas9 constructs to produce genetically modified zebrafish strains
• Perform relevant analyses on zebrafish adult and embryos
• Perform relevant zebrafish husbandry and maintenance as necessary
• Perform ex vivo analysis (ELISA, western blotting, immunoprecipitation; immunohistochemistry, qPCR)
• Image histological preparations and perform morphometric analyses
• Write protocols and study reports
• Perform data analyses and prepare presentations

This position requires a minimum of a Masters Degree and 2 years, or a Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience working in a lab. This experience should include:
• Prior experience working with zebrafish
• Prior experience generating zebrafish genetic models
• Immunoassays
• Cell biology
• Molecular biology

The ideal candidate will have in-depth in-vivo and in-vitro zebrafish expertise; experience with handling genetically modified zebrafish strains; experience with protein and gene expression assays; experience with antibody validation and optimization; be hardworking, flexible, innovative and able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to work well in a team.
