Senior Manufacturing Associate - Downstream Manufacturing

Your Tasks:

As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will participate in all aspects of downstream manufacturing operations for the purification of viral vectors.  Your ambitious nature, background in biologics manufacturing, and ability to be an example of professional excellence to others will be paramount.  There is an opportunity to assume a team-lead role; your technical excellence in a variety of routine purification processes, strong organizational and communication skills and well versed experience in cGMP’s will set you apart for this responsibility.  You will work closely with department management to ensure on-time execution of operations and to provide day-to-day oversight to junior staff.  Overall, your ability to carry out key manufacturing functions while leading and assisting junior manufacturing associates will directly support the supply of novel gene therapy products into clinical trials and ensure the continued success of  Miltenyi Biotec and Lentigen Technology, Inc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least 8 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in biologics purification in a GMP setting - Hands on proficiency with standard downstream operations such as tangential-flow filtration and column chromatography. Proficiency with AKTA chromatography systems a benefit
  • Well versed in cleanroom Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for gowning, traffic flows, and good documentation practices
  • You have a proven track record helping lead and mentor manufacturing team members.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, chromatography devices and columns, tangential-flow filtration devices and filters, peristaltic pumps and metering fill pumps, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cultured human cells (immortalized, not primary) and lentivirus-derived vector particles. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses, and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
