The GBDS Project Manager is a matrix role, reporting to GBDS Director of Business Operations, with responsibilities supporting various strategic deliverables across GBDS, including driving Real Word Evidence (RWE) initiatives and managing our Data Science book of work (BOW). You will work closely with the GBDS leaders in Data Science and RWE to understand and support growing project needs, successfully execute the vision, implement operating model, and deliver the BOW.

You will collaborate with the functional leads to implement the portfolio of strategic initiatives in building out evolving operating model. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to manage interdependencies, while ensuring transparency into the BOW delivery, including management of timelines, cost, quality, and risk mitigation. You will be a representative on behalf of GBDS to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with relevant functions across various forums and initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage functional plans, proactively identify risks and work with necessary partners to mitigate risk
  • Conduct environment scan of ongoing activities and assess various project and initiative needs, and develop and coordinate resource and engagement plan in support of these prioritize activities
  • Coordinate plans and activities that will ensure the success of an evolving operating model and BOW delivery
  • Change agent for continuous improvement and transformational initiatives
  • Act as an integrator within Data Science team and across GBDS and other R&D functions to ensure alignment and connect best practices
  • Advise on governance expectations with a focus on cross-functional input
  • Highlight interdependencies and downstream impacts of strategic decisions, to ensure all decisions are assessed as to their impacts and communicated to stakeholders in a transparent and timely manner
  • On occasion, this role will also support adhoc business operations requests including support of initiative governance or leadership driven activities.

  • BA/BS degree required; advanced degree in related discipline highly preferred
  • Experiences with Data Science project lifecycle and/or Real World Data strongly preferred
  • Excellent Project Management Skills - drives execution while balancing speed, quality, and cost. PMP certification desirable but not required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or 4+ years of equivalent consulting program management
  • Strong experience with building relationships, leading strategic initiatives and programs, and collaborating across divisions with people of diverse business backgrounds and cultures
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Broad range of leadership skills including situational leadership and ability to influence without authority
