Position Overview:
Molecular Templates is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated professional to support purchasing activities. The Purchasing Associate will be responsible for creating purchase orders; communicating with vendors to obtain product or service information; running reports in a cGMP environment. This requires excellent understanding of cGMP regulations, customer service skills and strong attention-to-detail, plus excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills.
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with scientific and other staff in a cGMP environment for procurement needs related to materials, scientific equipment, services, and supplies
- Obtain quotes and other documentation according to Company standards and SOPs
- Prepare purchase orders and monitor of orders for timely receipt, according to production and other scientific schedules
- Process change order requests as needed to support timely processing of invoices
- Work with the Inventory team on demand forecasting
- Maintain updated lead times on material
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, department liaisons and other stakeholders
- Participate in process improvements, as needed
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Business, Life Sciences or related field, required; Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a purchasing role
- Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment, preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles and practices of purchasing
- Proficiency with databases related to purchasing, receipts, inventory and accounts payable
- Familiarity with SarbanesOxley compliance and financial controls a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite Applications
- Excellent planning, organization and execution skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain highest standards of accuracy and strong attention-to-detail
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make correct independent decisions when appropriate, adjust and conform with varying schedules, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, problem solve, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to function under supervision and exercise good judgement
Reporting Structure:
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to Purchasing Supervisor, Supply Chain.
