Job Summary

Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting clinical production and process development of Emergent's upcoming pipeline products with an emphasis in upstream operations. This position will be involved in clinical GMP production, process development, characterization, optimization and scale up. This Senior Associate reports directly to the Clinical Production Manager of the Process Development and Production (PDP) department.

Essential Functions

• Key team member for clinical GMP production in San Diego
• Coordinate with functional areas to ensure production and development timelines are met
• Procurement of GMP and development materials
• Write technical reports, SOPs and Batch Records
• Support process development by planning and leading project specific studies, including DOEs
• Evaluate, develop and optimize process parameters for adherent and suspension cell growth
• Analyze, organize and present data for team and company presentations
• Support technology transfer of campaigns to commercial manufacturing sites
• Organization and maintenance of GMP facility and development labs

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills

• A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Engineering or related science with 2-5 years of relevant upstream industry experience
• Aseptic technique, cell culture and bioreactor experience are required
• cGMP experience preferred
• Chromatography Purification and UF/DF experience are preferred
• Proficient in MS Office with a high level of comfort using varied computer systems
• Must be detail oriented
