Position Summary:

The Equity Analyst aids the Sr. Accounting Manager in administering Horizon's global equity programs including stock options and share units (RSUs and PSUs), the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), as well as managing the annual Proxy preparation and reporting process.
  • Key support on stock plan administration activities including but not limited to daily transactional activities, employee assistance, employee training, and leading process improvement projects
  • Management and support of equity compensation plans including restricted stock, stock options, employee stock purchase plans and performance shares.
  • Assist in drafting footnotes and other required disclosures for our quarterly and annual filings with the SEC
  • Prepare and maintain backup support for annual proxy filing
  • Assist in technical accounting matters to support the organization, specifically stock-based compensation accounting and reporting along with the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP
  • Monitor FASB and SEC activities to assist in identifying any potential impact of new pronouncements and prepare technical accounting standard updates on a quarterly basis
  • Work closely and effectively with internal and external auditors, including facilitating and coordinating requests for our integrated financial statement audit
  • Special assignments and ad-hoc reporting as needs arise


Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • 3+ years of experience, of which, at least 2 years' experience with stock-based compensation accounting and/or equity plan management
  • CPA/CEP preferred
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Experience with SEC filings with exposure to SEC rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of FAS123/ASC718
  • Implementation or administration of stock-based compensation platforms preferred
  • Experience with researching non-routine, complex equity occurrences
  • Familiarity of accounting principles related to corporate equity plans
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Proactive professional with excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven self-motivator with excellent time management and prioritization skills
