Summary

The Contract Manager functions as a direct line negotiator of site budget and contracts between institutions and BMS. They will interact primarily with BMS clinical teams, legal, finance and other internal stakeholders to ensure that BMS' legal and financial positions are implemented in our clinical trial book of work and supporting agreements. The Contract Manager will also support negotiating other budgets and agreements as needed, to support CTCG under the direction of the AD, or designee.

Responsibilities

Execution of BMS Sponsored Research Agreements with Investigators and Institutions within the region

Develop and negotiate site level budgets with sites/investigators/institutions

Collaborate with global colleagues to develop and negotiate country level budgets

Collaborate with external partners to execute site budgets and contracts

Monitor budgets on a study level t and provide updates to project teams as appropriate

Negotiate contract terms and conditions with sites/investigators/institutions

Develop and maintain templatenegotiation and decision history for clinical trial agreements including utilizing many levels of associated fall back language as provided by BMS Legal

Assure that contractual terms and provisions are in compliance with corporate processes, guidelines, and policies.

Escalate to appropriate BMS colleaguewhen significant legal or financial risk is identified

Support the set-up of funds, reconciliation of invoices, grant payment and run remittance reports.

Ensure contracting compliance and appropriate prioritization and execution with the Book of Work

Ensure proper filing and status reporting of all agreements within approved company systems

Desired Experience

A Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and 5+ years direct contracting experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical industry; or Master's degree and 3+ years contract experience.

At Least 5 Years of an in depth working knowledge of site budget and contract negotiation as well an understanding of the budget and contracting and process and associated policies, procedures, business practices and systems.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Highly skilled in conflict resolution with the ability to resolve problems independently.

Ability to multi-task within and across projects, prioritize and manage timelines effectively.

Ability to sustain high levels of performance in a constantly changing environment.

Innovative, proactive, and motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and a strong desire to succeed.

Ability to think strategically and implement contract simplification.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and project management skills needed to effectively convey information.

Demonstrates a high level of adaptability in dealing with ambiguous and complex work environment and balances multiples demands on role in a responsive and professional manner.
