Materials Management Specialist

What Your New Manager Wants You To Know

I am looking for an experienced Materials Management Specialist who will be responsible for Managing full-time and contract employees in material control inventory and work order coordination. Review and distribute production and shipping schedules and check with department managers to gauge progress, inventory levels and production issues. Responsible for communicating with different departments and helping meet production schedules. This individual needs to be detail-oriented and understand cGxP practices in an FDA and AATB regulated environment.

You Will

  • Manage the taking and maintenance of physical inventories. Cycle Counting, count verification, transfer orders, backstock locations
  • Direct and coordinate inventory control functions with Operations, Purchasing, Information Technology and Finance departments.
  • Allocate and organize resources (materials and people) to meet objectives.
  • Review current methods and develop improved practices and procedures.
  • Plan short and long-term objectives for the materials control function including the Cycle count process. Set priorities for utilizing resources.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the site inventory management system, including system reports.
  • Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs
  • Manage Gowning inventory including vendor management

  • Improve the overall global inventory correctness metric and reduce of manufacturing scrap due to inventory errors. Improve consumption accuracy to all BOM's.
  • Inventory management, physical inventory practices and procedures


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 - 5 years' relevant experience

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, SAP and ERP databases
  • Inventory management, physical inventory practices and processes
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation practices.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem solving and detail skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
