Summary:

Reporting to the lead of Medical Communications, Manager, Medical Affairs will be responsible for planning, development and maintenance of medical materials and content in support as well as providing operational and scientific support for key strategic Medical Affairs initiatives, including educational grant program and advisory boards. The Manger, Medical Affairs will also provide organizational development and communications management expertise for key cross-functional initiatives, including general organizational and senior leadership/executive team initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support development of medical materials, including summaries, reports, and presentations, in support of Medical Communications, Field Medical, and other Medical Affairs functions
  • Collaborate closely with other Medical Affairs functions, Clinical, Research, and other departments to strategize, formulate key scientific messages, and identify gaps for medical education and scientific exchange related to the disease and MyoKardia clinical programs
  • Support planning, development and management of Medical Advisory Boards and Roundtables
  • Medical Manage and monitor educational grants and Investigator-Sponsored Research; collaborate with Finance for budgeting and tracking expenses
  • Effectively prioritize content plan with attention to prioritization to ensure deliverables are on time with high quality
  • Manage Medical Affairs dashboards, develop and regularly report on key performance indicators surrounding projects and medical content use
  • Support development of business plans, goals, launch plans, and annual medical planning
  • Develop and regularly report on key performance indicators surrounding medical launch plans
  • Collaborate with training administrators to ensure Medical Affairs role based training are developed, assigned and completed in a timely manner
  • Manage development, refinement, and maintenance of Medical Affairs Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support Medical Affairs activities at national and international conferences

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical/Scientific Communications
  • Pharma/Medical Affairs experience is required
  • PhD degree in Life Sciences/Health Related Sciences or equivalent
  • Content knowledge of cardiovascular disease area is desired
  • Excellent project management skills and experience in a multitasking environment
  • Good clinical/scientific communication and writing skills
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • In-depth knowledge of PubMed, Embase, and other medical/scientific resources
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Web-based applications
