AbbVie Immunology is expanding its early discovery team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The early discovery team in Cambridge is focused on identifying new targets for the treatment of autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases through computational analysis of human disease tissue derived datasets, and through validating targets using in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to partner with Functional Genomic bioinformaticians and in vivo pharmacologists to develop novel platforms for target screening and validation. This position requires passion, attention to detail, hands-on experience and teamwork.


  • Support target biology validation for inflammatory and fibrosis targets using in vivo PD and disease models.
  • Work with team members to generate chimeric mice and establish additional CRISPR-based tools/platforms.
  • Tissue collection and processing for various endpoints.
  • Work with immune-compromised mice as well as ABSL-2 infected mice.
  • Analyze data and present work in internal meetings.



Position will be hired based on level of experience.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Immunology or other biological sciences with 5-7 years of experience.
  • Experience with in vivo animal models is required; Inflammatory/fibrosis model experience is preferred.
  • Skilled in various in vivo techniques including mouse handling, SQ/IP/PO/IV injections, tissue collections (blood, colon, spleen, lung, and bones), and disease assessment.
  • Experience with cell culture and flow cytometry are bonuses.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with peers.
