The Buyer Planner I, is responsible for work order creation and tracking inventory material from time of order to time of delivery. This role works closely with suppliers and the site Buyer/Planner to develop and maintain a working knowledge of our materials and processes. In addition, this role assists the Supply Chain Team in tracking raw materials, fixing incoming receipt errors and meeting weekly with suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with suppliers and the site Buyer/Planner to develop and maintain a working knowledge of our materials and processes.
  • Responsible for creation and management of work orders for planned manufacturing lots.
  • Supports manufacturing with ERP transactions and allocation of materials.
  • Assists the Supply Chain Team in tracking raw materials, fixing incoming receipt errors and meeting weekly with suppliers
  • Expedites and revises orders to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Maintains data within the ERP system.
  • Tracks all raw materials from time of purchase to time of receipt.
  • Attends/hosts weekly meetings with suppliers to review open orders.
  • Maintains the Item Master and updates via instruction from the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Creates and reports key performance metrics related to purchasing and inventory management.
  • Assists Warehouse team with any incoming receipt issues.
  • Updates month on hand reports weekly.
  • Other Related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in supply chain, engineering, science, business or related area.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate with limited supervision and exercise proper judgment.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Approximately 5% travel.


The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
