Job Description:

The Translational Immunology Department is committed to advancing the pipeline through the investigation of patient-derived tissue and clinical biomarker identification. We are seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to join our team focused on assay development, optimization, and execution of high throughput molecular assays. The successful candidate will have expertise in RNA isolation, quantification, and handling. Expertise in RNA library preparation and sequencing preferred along with the ability to design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments independently. The candidate should play an active role in communicating and collaborating with scientists across Abbvie to advance projects while contributing and participating in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory
• Independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions
• Demonstrate the ability to resolve project hurdles by utilizing available information and technical expertise in molecular biology
• Analyze and document results, placing data in proper scientific context through review of relevant literature and report findings at team meetings
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, controlled drugs and radioactive compounds

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Position will be hired based on level of experience.

• BS or MS in Biology or other related field with 5-7+ years (BS), or 2-5+ years (MS) of industry or academic experience
• Familiarity with microfluidics and single cell analysis platforms
• Experience with instrument automation preferred
• Knowledge of basic immunology concepts
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary groups in a fast-paced discovery team setting
• Effectively communicate cross-functionally with team members throughout the organization
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral)
