Key Responsibilities Include:
  • The Strategic Business Marketing Director's responsibility is to develop and implement cross-franchise strategic initiatives to improve revenue and profit for the entire Established Product portfolio.
  • Understanding industry, business, professional and consumer trends to build product life cycle marketing strategies and drive sustained growth of the Established Product portfolio.
  • Lead segmentation efforts for all Established Products and prioritize life cycle initiatives
  • Identify and resolve broader business issues and opportunities, and for leading the alignment of total organizational resources to ensure effective strategy and execution against these opportunities.
  • Main point of contact to coordinate with Operations to find manufacturing efficiencies and other manufacturing areas of opportunities to improve margin profile.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.


Develop, implement, and execute strategic and tactical initiatives relating to the portfolio to include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Harmonizing authorized generic Agreements that exist across all Established Product therapeutic areas.
  • Work across US Specialty to plan for products that will be losing exclusivity
  • Initiate and execute cross- channel analysis and conduct pre- and post-impact analysis.
  • Work with Business Development and Acquisitions to divest appropriate assets and/or create partnerships to drive incremental revenue and profit
  • Direct contracting initiatives to drive sustained product growth with payers, supply chain partners and other business partners (i.e. other manufacturers, AG partners, Venture Capitalists, etc.)

Provide leadership to optimize segment results and profitability
  • Communicate proactively to all levels of management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with all cross-functional partners
  • Provide regular, detailed status updates to the management team.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and execute on market opportunities and co-ordinate activities to maximize product / services offerings.

Accountability & Scope:

The incumbent works closely with Established Products GM, Therapeutic Leads, US Specialty Marketing Leads, outside agencies, third party partners, and internal functions (e.g., Operations, Pricing, Market Research, Forecasting, Legal, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development and Acquisitions, etc.)

**Position can be based in Madison, NJ as well**

Qualifications

Basic:
  • BA, BS degree required or equivalent experience.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in business, science or pharmacy preferred

Key AbbVie Competencies:
  • 10+ years marketing/sales experience required,
  • 5 of which must be specific to healthcare, minimum 3 years in management.
  • Must exhibit proficiency commensurate with grade in the following competencies: adaptability, teamwork, initiative, innovation, integrity, analytical, leadership, strategic thinking and communication.
