Job Details
Responsible for managing a team that:
- Ensures the accuracy, security and storage compliance of all inventories.
- Utilize SAP to monitor, analyze and optimize inventory storage strategies.
- Schedules and performs inventory cycle counts.
- Performs quarterly audits of building personnel access.
- Responsible for identifying and developing quarterly presentations of inventory accuracy and issues resulting in discrepancies.
- Develops and maintains business continuity planning for Warehouse.
- Understand and incorporate risk management strategy to ensure supply to Manufacturing and Clinical trials.
- Increases the speed, efficiency, responsiveness and cost effectiveness of Warehouse Operations by using Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Sense and respond to changes in order to support client needs or mitigate interruptions to service.
- Develop network wide visibility in order to monitor and align with best practices on inventory management.
- Align to global supply chain initiatives to enhance efficiencies and ensure more robust compliance.
- Represents site Inventory and Warehouse Management on global teams.
- Partner with Global Distribution, Manufacturing, and Planning in order to incorporate strategies that will enhance the speed of Amgen's supply chain.
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure support systems are delivering acceptable performance.
- Participate and provide support on building critical projects.
- Ensure warehouse is inspection ready at all times and represent Inventory Management during audits.
Outputs:
- World class inventory accuracies.
- A stable supply of storage capacity in each storage condition.
- Strategies that result in increased revenues, lower operating costs, and reduced investment in working capital.
- Specific measurements include inventory accuracy, warehouse capacity utilization, budget adherence, project timeline adherence and NC reduction.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain, Operations or Manufacturing experience
OR
Master's degree and 6 years of Supply Chain, Operations or Manufacturing experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Supply Chain, Operations or Manufacturing experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Supply Chain, Operations or Manufacturing experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain, Operations or Manufacturing experience
AND
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Business Administration
- 5+ years aggregate experience a managerial or lead role related to Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or Planning.
- 2 + years in Supply Chain Management practices
- 4 + years general business knowledge (e.g., industry, finance, Supply Chain Mgmt., manufacturing, quality , regulatory, process development).
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Experience working with capital equipment and/or facilities and plant systems.
- APICS Certification
- Experience in leading Operational Excellence Initiatives/Programs
- Demonstrates strong organization and planning skills
- Applies expert analytical skills and regularly solves complex problems.
