Job Description

The Manager, Supply Chain Logistics (Order Management) is part of the Supply Chain Logistics & Customer Solutions organization and it will be based in the Santa Monica Headquarters. This role is responsible for supporting the rapid growth of Kite's clinical and healthy donor operations by developing logistics, system, transportation and order management solutions that address the needs of Kite's internal and external customers within globally.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Manage and support new clinical trials, new dosing strategies and clinical geographical expansion by developing processes, managing SOPs
  • Manage the Order To Cash process for both Clinical Autologous and Allogeneic Therapies across Kite Manufacturing Facilities within scope
  • Manage the order management and logistics process for Healthy Donor shipments across Kite US sites
  • Develop, implement, manage and maintain robust inbound & outbound cold chain logistics processes while maintaining high value biopharmaceutical product integrity and chain of custody/Chain of Identity
  • Develop and implement robust customer service solutions covering aspects of order management, supplier management and logistics that are scalable and provides clear alignment across all departments
  • Manage the relationship and performance of logistics partners and suppliers
  • Investigate deviations, initiate SCARS and remediate service issues related to order management, logistics and customer service
  • Manage and support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for logistics deviations and exceptions
  • Develop, achieve buy-in for, & implement effective logistics strategies to achieve Kite Pharma goals
  • Provide logistical support & expertise to Kite Pharma's change management for new product launches and product geographical expansion launches both within the US and internationally
  • Identify, initiate, and manage cross-functional logistics projects using appropriate project management expertise & methodologies
  • Develop monitoring & measurement methods & indices for departmental & partner performance
  • Develop and Maintain Logistics' key performance measures including measure around spend and cost
  • Purchase Order management and capture monthly accruals and work with Finance on spend management
  • Identify, develop and incorporate GDP guidelines into Kite Pharma procedures
  • Provide order management support to support validations/qualifications
  • Develop continuous improvement plans for Kite Pharma's Logistics infrastructure
  • Work to investigation and resolve international trade compliance issues
  • Work collaboratively with both internal & external partners to achieve business goals
  • Support inspection readiness plans and interact with regulatory agencies during inspections as needed.
  • Mentor, coach, & develop Logistics personnel


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is required (Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering preferred). MS/MBA is preferred
  • 8+ years of Supply Chain / Logistics experience required, including a minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain or International trade roles within the Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Knowledge and experience in end to end Supply Chain processes and systems from contract to cash is recommended
  • Patient - centric mindset
  • Position requires strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a diverse work force.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in Process Excellence tools is preferred
  • Experience manipulating big data sets using Microsoft Excel is required (tables, arrays, formulas, conditional formatting, pivot tables)
  • Experience in working in ERP systems on an order management level and pulling reports
  • 5+ years Project Management experience with knowledge of current PM best practices & tools
  • Experience with Change Control practices/strategies
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, including GDP, SOPs and quality systems
