Scientist, Adeno-Associated Viral Vector Production

Wellstat Ophthalmics is seeking a Scientist to join our team.  The scientist will be responsible for recombinant adeno-associated viral vector (AAV) production for the development of novel gene therapy products for the treatment of important human diseases including, but not limited to, ocular and cardiovascular diseases.  Specifically, the scientist will be responsible for engineering of AAV vector constructs, production, purification, characterization and titering of AAV vectors.

Job Functions:

  • Design AAV vector constructs.
  • Engineer AAV vector constructs based on different serotypes.
  • Production of AAV vectors.
  • Purification of AAV vectors.
  • Characterization of AAV vectors.
  • Titering of AAV vectors.
  • Supply in vivo modeling group with high quality of AAV vectors for in vivo studies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • recombinant AAV vector technology
    • AAV vector construction
    • AAV vector production, purification, characterization, and tittering
    • different serotype AAV vectors
  • In-depth knowledge with AAV vector gene therapy.
  • The candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to independently perform experiments under limited supervision. 

Education Requirements:

Ph.D. in a relevant field with minimal three years’ working experience with recombinant AAV vector technology.
