Key Responsibilities
  • Build and lead key development portfolio strategy and analysis deliverables and processes
    • Deliverables will support achievement of corporate goals, portfolio planning, and decision-making by project development teams (PDTs) and governance committees
  • Main presenter of strategic options, analytics, and recommendations to both R&D leadership as well as the broader Arcus leadership and Arcus-Gilead JSC/JDC/JCC
  • Partner for PDTLs, leveraging commercialization and analytical expertise, to frame and assess development options, risk, and key decisions points, ensuring industry benchmarks are appropriately applied to identify, value, and prioritize opportunities and optimize/manage portfolio risk
  • Build and lead market insights and analytics tools in support of early commercialization / brand strategies
  • Partner with Research and Development groups to value assess portfolio strategies, including analytic and insight generation, in support of target identification, in-licensing of early-stage / preclinical assets, early- to late-stage partnering opportunities, and Ph1b-Ph3 investment decisions
  • Ensure all data sources, market tracking, and other insights generation adheres to high quality standards
  • Support business case development by working with Corporate Development lead(s)


Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree required; advanced degree in a life sciences related field strongly preferred (MS, PhD)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, PhD/MS)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with working knowledge of biopharma landscape, R&D trends, decision analysis, and business strategy
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and teams through communication and facilitation skills
  • Significant experience in strategic and/or analytic roles in biopharma or consulting with proven ability to frame and assess complex market opportunities and communicate recommendations effectively
  • Must possess the ability to both lead and be a strong contributor / team player
  • Decision analysis expertise highly desired
