Job Details
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON FUNDING APPROVAL
- Performing high throughput genome editing screens in mammalian cells to identify genes involved with therapeutic RNA editing efficiency and efficacy
- Therapeutic gene editing in cell models of different monogenic diseases
- Participate in collaborative research projects which will emanate from initial work
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college/university in a discipline related to biomedical research. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic molecular biology skills such as PCR, genomic DNA extraction, and cloning
- Mammalian tissue culture experience and sterile technique
- Data analysis and familiarity with running python and/or R scripts
