Orchard's portfolio of cutting-edge ex vivo autologous gene therapy programs has demonstrated sustained clinical benefit in over 150 patients across five disease areas. The pipeline includes Strimvelis, the first EMA approved ex vivo gene therapy for adenosine deaminase severe combined immunodeficiency or ADA-SCID and six clinical-stage programmes targeting neurometabolic disorders, primary immune deficiencies and blood disorders. The company has submitted an application for market authorization with EMA for LIBMELDY (OTL-200) targeting metachromatic leukodystrophy or MLD in November 2019, and an approval is anticipated by the end of 2020. Further submissions for a BLA and an MAA are planned in 2021 for its programme in Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (OTL-103).
In anticipation of the launch of its therapies in France, Orchard is looking to appoint a Therapeutic Operations Lead , to lead the commercialization of Orchard's transformative gene therapies in neurometabolic disorders. Reporting to the General Manager Orchard France & Benelux, the Therapeutic Operations Lead will be responsible for delivering the company's commercial business in neurometabolic disorders. This will include building trusted relationships with qualified treatment centers, healthcare professionals and patient organizations and leading the commercialisation of LIBMELDY in France.

Key elements and responsibilities:
- Develop trusted relationships with qualified treatment centers, healthcare professionals and patient organizations
- In collaboration with the global quality and distribution teams, facilitate site qualification activities and resolve issues arising throughout the site qualification process. Then, on an ongoing basis, nurture the partnership between the company and treatment centers in collaboration with the medical and supply chain teams
- In partnership with the Medical Director, engage disease experts via advisory boards and individual interactions to accelerate patient identification and diagnosis
- Oversee the development of disease-related and product-related materials and their approval for use in France, in partnership with the Medical Director
- Drive disease awareness and the identification of potential patient candidates for treatment with LIBMELDY and other Orchard gene therapies
- Resolve issues of access to treatment by potential patient candidates to gene therapy, in collaboration with the Market Access function
- Plan activities and track budget in the franchise
- Role-model corporate values and behaviours; foster compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and corporate SOPs, and the pursuit of the highest ethical standards
- Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management. regarding the strategy and operations in the neurometabolic franchise.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in a commercial or medical affairs position
- Experience in rare diseases or specialty diseases
- A track record of building trusted relationships with disease experts (in partnership with the medical team) and other public influencers, to drive adoption of a therapy
- A good scientific acumen
- A team mindset
- An individual with high resilience who thrives on overcoming obstacles
- Excellent verbal and written communication in French and English
- Proficiency with the suite of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 50% of time)
- First rate commercial background; undergraduate degree required, MBA appreciated
- Relevant scientific degree or background
