Manager, Commercial Operations Communications is responsible for developing and executing internal communications strategies and tactics that will inform, engage and ultimately advance performance among employees in Commercial Operations. The position is also responsible for ensuring the integration and inclusion of Commercial Operations strategies, messaging and information into AbbVie's broader enterprise communication strategy that reaches the company's employee workforce.

The Manager reports to and partners with the Commercial Operations Internal and Leadership Communications Director. A high degree of collaboration is required with internal colleagues at the HQ, regional and country-levels, as well as with internal and external creative agencies, to ensure coordination of message, relevance and impact to all stakeholders.

Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development and executes an integrated, global internal communications strategy and tactics to ensure the company's Commercial leaders and Commercial employees are aligned and incented to deliver against business goals.
  • Partners with Brand, Public Affairs, Corporate, and Patient Relations community to ensure alignment on Commercial milestones, appropriately positioning leading brands and commercial initiatives across internal audiences.
  • Leads the development and management of Commercial Operations Communications platforms, channels (such as the CO Portal, Mindshare newsletter, etc.) and measurement.
  • Works closely with internal and external communications agencies, creative firms and other partners to deliver on approved strategies.
  • Manages resources/budgets within company financial policies and external policies governing industry practices.
  • Oversees implementation of tactical program elements and ensures deliverables are on time/on budget.
  • Partners with Area and affiliates to elevate best internal and external commercial practices.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of corporate businesses and/or therapeutic areas, industry and competitive landscape to provide effective counsel to management.


Minimum Experience/Requirements:
  • 10+ years of public affairs experience.
  • International and in-affiliate experience preferred; role must interact frequently with Areas and Affiliates and in an international context.
  • Successful building and executing strategic and tactical plans that deliver results.
  • Established track record interacting with creative agencies
  • Strong project management skills alongside strategic thinking.
