Job Summary:
The Senior Director/Director, Medical Affairs, is a multi-faceted, versatile, customer-centric, and experienced medical affairs professional with oncology expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience working across several groups in medical affairs. Areas of focus of the role include strategic and operational oversight for medical affairs-led evidence generation inclusive of the Arcus IST (Investigator-Sponsored Trial) program and development of an EAP (Expanded Access Program) in support of investigational use of Arcus oncology pipeline assets. Additionally, this individual will partner with the cross-functional team to develop the publications strategy and managing the delivery of high-quality scientific publications

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational oversight for the Arcus IST (Investigator-Sponsored Trial) program including interfacing with external investigators and creating a submission portal for external stakeholder submissions
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues to develop and implement an EAP (Expanded Access Program) in support of investigational use of Arcus oncology pipeline assets
- Collaborate with the PDTLs (Project Development Team Leads) to develop and implement an evidence generation plan complementing the company-sponsored trial portfolio across cancers
- Develop a publications strategy to support cross-functionally aligned and consistent externally facing clinical data-related communications on the Arcus oncology pipeline
- Present key deliverables (i.e. IST strategy, EAP updates, publications plan) to Arcus R&D leadership and broader Arcus leadership
- Heighten external awareness of Arcus oncology pipeline and support accelerated enrollment into pivotal company-sponsored trials across cancers
Qualifications (including knowledge & skills):
- Bachelors, Masters or Advanced (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) degree in a life-sciences discipline plus 10-15+ years progressive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including 7-10+ years of diverse Medical Affairs experience(s); Advanced degree preferred
- Oncology (solid tumor or hematologic malignancies) clinical, research, or medical communications experience required
- Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and executing an IST (Investigator-Sponsored Trial) and/or EAP (Expanded Access Program)
- Demonstrated track record of successfully developing and implementing impactful publication plans
- Launch experience within Oncology or Hematology preferred
- Experience working in a matrix environment with other functional groups (e.g. Regulatory, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Commercial) where consensus across multiple opinions and good working relationships are important
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills
