Regeneron's Analytical Chemistry group is looking for an instant contributor who will focus on applying the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry technology to conduct biochemical characterization of Regeneron's antibody-based therapeutic protein candidates and/or products. In this role, you will be involved in developing analytical methods, executing experimental protocols for primary structure analysis of therapeutic proteins to support all stages of drug development and CHO cell culture analysis. You will also be involved in developing new mass spectrometry technologies to support the R&D programs.
A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:
  • Develops LC-MS and CE-MS based analytical methods to support the development of monoclonal antibody, bispecific antibody as well as other new modality biotherapueitc drug candidates
  • Work independently for crafting experiments, drafting protocols, executing experiments, performing data analysis, documenting work in electronic notebooks, and generating study reports
  • Work closely with multi-functional project teams, including but not limited to formulation development, process development, manufacturing; provide high quality analytical data and present results at group, department, and cross-functional team meetings
  • Find opportunities to improve existing or developing innovative analytical methods (e.g. novel MS, LC or CE methods) to better support therapeutic protein characterization and drug development and publish the work in peer-reviewed journals
  • Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to performing analytical characterization for therapeutic antibody development and regulatory submissions, and authoring characterization sections of regulatory submissions (e.g. IND, IMPD, comparability, and BLAs)

This job requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry (or related discipline) with 0-3 years of industry experience on protein characterization and a proven track record of publications in the fields. Prior industry experience prefferred. Expertise in mass spectrometry principle and its application for protein analysis with problem solving skills on different mass spectrometers, i.e. Q-Exactive, Q-TOF and/ or QqQ required. Extensive experiences and trouble shooting skills on separation science (i.e. HPLC, IEX, HIC, HILIC, 2D-LC, CE, CIEF etc.) needed. Proficiency in LC or CE-MS method development for protein analysis and related data analysis required. Experience in protein characterization/post translational modification analysis, metabolomics or ICP-MS for elemental anlaysis is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills are necessary. You must be willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting timelines and adapting to priority changes. You must have enthusiasm in science and technology, and is highly self-motivated of making contributions in a team environment.
