What Your New Manager Wants You To Know

Working as a key member of an advanced development team , the Principle Project Engineer will plan, organize, and manage early stage product development. This role will conduct early stage pre-clinical and clinical research on cryolipolysis and other energy-based device technologies for body contouring. This role will require strong experimental, technical analysis, technical writing and presentation skills to advance our scientific foundation and effectively communicate results to wide ranging audiences.

You Will
  • Manage and conduct scientific research and early stage product development projects in collaboration with a cross functional team.
  • Plan and organize research and advanced development projects involving internal cross functional teams, CRO's, subject matter expert consultants, and product development partners.
  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities, patient needs, and new product features.
  • Represent Allergan Aesthetics business interests at business meetings, medical conferences, and medical advisory boards, including the creating and presentation of cutting-edge product related research material.
  • Review and interpret clinical data, including basic statistical analyses.
  • Provide scientific and strategic guidance and support for regulatory and medical affairs departments.
  • Support the publication of articles in the field of aesthetic medical devices in peer-reviewed, internationally recognized academic journals.
  • Provide regular project status updates to R&D executive leadership

Qualifications

You Bring
  • B.S. or M.S. in life science or engineering area, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years experience in therapeutic medical device product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-specialty early-stage product development teams, including external contract resources.
  • Proficiency in writing for submissions to peer-reviewed journals, trade publications, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of 21CFR.820 and ISO Regulations.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis.
  • Strong analytical and experimental planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational and communication skills.
  • Working understanding tissue interaction and basic operational principles of energy-based devices using in aesthetic medicine including laser, ultrasound, RF, thermal, and mechanical technologies
  • Occasional travel (Approximately 20%), including car or domestic and international flights.
  • Ability to be responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA's Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which Allergan Aesthetics/AbbVie complies.
