The Bioinformatics Data Architect will work within the Data Science and Molecular Profiling team merging biological understanding with data management, aggregation, and analysis tools to evaluate, design and implement innovative solutions for the Regeneron research community. The role will collaborate with colleagues across the research, core technology centers and IT. Design and implement next generation transcriptomics data management solutions supporting projects such as single cell RNA-seq TCR/BCR analysis and integrating results with internal and external data sources.

As a Bioinformatics Data Architect, a typical day might include:
  • Evaluating current data management systems and integration needs.
  • Designing and implementing data processing pipelines in coordination with scientific data producers and end users.
  • Designing and implementing solutions for data management and aggregation
  • Analyzing information flow and recommend appropriate technology to provide support to all laboratory processes.
  • Evaluating design and implement data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Coordinating with data producers and consumers to design systems and processes that enable data sharing.
  • Defining conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Producing technical design documentation.


TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS JOB, YOU MUST HAVE:
  • BS/MS + 3 + years relevent experience
  • Proven problem-solving skills and collaborative nature in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with next generation sequencing and transciptomics
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of current data management technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in a Python and SQL
  • Experience with big data cluster-computing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark, Hive, Hadoop).
