Are you interested in making a difference in a collaborative and innovative environment? We are seeking a bright and motivated candidate with a data science toolkit and a passion for science and drug discovery. Developing computational pipelines, algorithms, and visualizations that will directly impact research and clinical decisions. Take a lead role in research, mining large, heterogenous data sets for biological insights underpinning metabolic and cardiovascular disease. This is not a "pair of hands" position; you will conduct real research. Gaps in your knowledge will be filled by some of the best scientists in the industry. We want someone that has an interest in learning every day.

As a Bioinformatics Data Analyst, a typical day could include:
  • Implementing pipelines to analyze and visualize data generated by new -omics technologies, working closely with the "wet lab" scientists developing these advances.
  • Building intuitive and significant interactive visualization tools for scientists and clinicians.
  • Extracting biologically meaningful hypotheses from large, high-throughput experiments using statistics and machine learning.
  • Contributing to algorithm development efforts.
  • Actively collaborating with, and sharing results with, computational and bench scientists, clinicians and collaborators.


THIS ROLE MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team orientation, creativity, and ability to juggle multiple projects.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's degree in bioinformatics, statistics, physics, computer science, or other quantitative discipline, Proven professional or academic achievement in your field, Fluency in at least one of: R, python, Matlab, or C/C++; comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment. We are also seeking working knowledge of genetics and biology, and a willingness to learn more, ability to approach a large data set with curiosity and statistical rigor; knowledge of machine learning approaches, as well as their limitation, familiarity with some of the following is desirable: bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, metabolomics, proteomics, exome sequencing, electronic health records. Experience with cloud computing also a plus.
