Job Details
The division of Global Product Supply at Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our Sterile Products Development group. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the technical and strategic advancement of biologic drug candidates in support of formulation and process optimization throughout all stages of clinical and commercial drug product development.
This individual should have demonstrated detailed fundamental knowledge of protein structure and degradation mechanisms including chemical stability, physical stability and interactions with common excipients and surfaces. Hands-on experience with analytical and biophysical characterization techniques for monitoring and investigating protein dynamics, stability and higher order structure under physiologically or pharmaceutically relevant conditions is also required. Additional knowledge of chemical biology concepts, multi-domain structures and complexes, protein-conjugates and protein behavior in solid forms is also highly desirable.
The successful candidate must have a passion for problem solving and a keen sense of innovation, along with excellent interpersonal communication skills and enthusiasm for working with multidisciplinary teams for developing and advancing biologic drug products. This requires rigorous design and execution of experiments, promoting novel applications and advancements of technologies, in addition to high standards of laboratory safety, documentation, and interpretation and presentation of scientific results, both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have an advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering or related field, with 0-3 years of relevant industrial or postdoctoral experience required with a PhD degree, or a minimum of 5 years of experience with a M.S. degree.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience using protein mass spectrometry (from intact to peptide levels) as well as various protein separation (chromatographic and electrophoretic) techniques. Experience or working knowledge of spectroscopic techniques (e.g. light scattering, Raman), biophysical techniques and coding/scripting for automated data analysis and molecular dynamics simulation is a plus.
