Job Details

The Director, Global Development Systems Data Governance will lead Global Development's data governance activities including processes, policies and guidelines for administering the organization's data and records and ensure the Operational data processes are efficient and effective from end-to-end. We are looking for a leader to develop and document data standards and data curation policies and processes in partnership with Functional Areas. You will ensure that there are documented procedures and guidelines for data access and use. The Director is responsible for Global Development's Master Data and ontologies and serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues.

As the Director, Global Development Systems Data Governance a typical day might include:
  • Driving the consistency of the data governance approach across Global Development Functional Areas including Clinical, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs and Precision Medicine.
  • Leading the design, definition and delivery of operational data exchange between Regeneron and its strategic partners (i.e. CROs)
  • Establishing, implementing and maintaining a Global Development-wide federated data governance framework with business objective of ensuring quality of data.
  • Determining the methodologies to define ontologies and taxonomies for information management at the Functional area level and curating at the Global Development level
  • Collection and documentation of metadata and ontologies for Global Development data and records.
  • Developing and maintaining data maps including authoritative systems and owners
  • Partnering with members of Global Development, other Regeneron Departments and external third parties, to continuously validate and improve the quality of internal and external data
  • Engaging with the industry to learn about standard methodologies for data stewardship and introduce new innovative capabilities to the business.
  • Developing and analyzing metrics for data quality and data management processes.
  • Ensuring alignment to security and privacy requirements and standards
This role may be for you if you have:
  • Functional area expertise in data standards related to Clinical Operations, Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, etc.
  • Facilitated the development and implementation of data quality standards and data protection standards, processes and procedures cross functionally and within individual functional areas.
  • Experience defining and documenting metadata and ontologies
  • Partnered with Clinical Development teams and external third parties to continuously improve and validate data provided to business partners
To be considered for this opportunity you must have a BA/BS degree with 15+ years of relevant experience or an MS degree with 12+ years relevant experience. A solid grasp of industry data standards e.g. CDISC. Good problem solving, technical writing and verbal communication skills. The ability to effectively handle multiple priorities. A strong track record of project management, partner management, budget management and collaboration skills. Willing to travel up to 25%.
