We are seeking a Staff Scientist to provide biochemical characterization of therapeutic protein drug candidates for our Analytical Chemistry group in Tarrytown NY, utilizing our state-of-the-art mass spectrometry lab. We find therapeutic protein drug candidates to support different stages of drug development, from early-stage selections to late-stage regulatory submissions. We are looking for someone who will innovate mass spectrometry technologies for Regeneron R&D programs and project teams.

A Typical Day Might Include the Following:

- Developing and applying mass spectrometry and its related technologies for the analytical characterization of therapeutic protein drug and/or products, collaborating with project teams representing research, formulation, process development, manufacturing, etc.

- Designing experiments, drafting protocols, executing experiments, performing data analysis, documenting work in electronic notebooks and generating study reports

- Providing high quality analytical data and presenting results at group, department, and cross-functional team meetings

- Pin-point opportunities to improve existing or develop innovative analytical methods to better support therapeutic protein characterization and drug development

- Performing analytical characterization for therapeutic antibody development and regulatory submissions and authoring characterization sections of regulatory submissions

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with concentration in mass spectrometry and its related fields of protein characterization/qualification, proteomics, and PTM analysis. Post-doctoral and./or biotech/biopharma industry experience is preferred (3-10 years). Proficiency with sophisticated mass spectrometry technologies (Q-TOF, Orbitrap, Q-Exactive, Tripe Quadrupole MS etc.) and developing and performing associate applications for protein characterization is required.
