Scientist - Formulation Development

We are seeking a R&D Scientist within the Formulation Development Group of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. at Tarrytown, NY. The Scientist, Formulation Development drives formulation and drug product development at all stages of R&D and commercialization. In addition, our Scientist, Formulation Development will carry out research on protein formulation stability and compatibility with drug delivery systems to enable clinical and commercial administration of drug products.

A Typical Day Might Include:

- Design and execute formulation development and stability studies to support various phase-appropriate development antibody drug candidates

- Assess IV compatibility, in-use stability and microbial challenge studies to recommend clinical and commercial dosing strategy

- Innovate fit-for-purpose analytical methods to support biophysical characterization, formulation stability and compatibility testing

- Craft technical transfer documents to internal and external manufacturing sites and support the process development and manufacturing of clinical drug substances and drug products, as well as formulation development and compatibility technical documents for internal use and to support regulatory filings

- Drive the development of new technologies to enhance and expand the capabilities of the group towards product characterization and improvement

- Presents work at group and cross functional meetings

This position requires a PharmD or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biophysics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 0-4 years of relevant industry working experience. Additionally, experience with biopharmaceutical product development, IV admixture compatibility, microbial challenge study, or sterile product development and manufacturing is preferred. A strong scientific understanding and experience with pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical science, pharmacy, protein chemistry, biophysical/biochemical characterization of proteins, bioanalytical method development or biomolecule product development is desired. Experience and proficiency with column chromatographic (HPLC/UPLC), or biophysical techniques (such as DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC, fluorescence) for protein characterization is desired.
