I: Job Summary

The Financial Specialist will be responsible for a variety of accounting close functions for the Camden and Bayview sites. In addition, will assist with financial reporting, cost accounting and other duties as assigned.

II: Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly close process
  • Prepare and enter journal entries which include completing appropriate documentation and supporting work orders
  • Completion of budgetary, month-end, and ongoing cost accounting processes including accounting for cost of goods sold, manufacturing variances, etc.
  • Develop an understanding of the interrelationships between the inventory/manufacturing process and the SAP accounting system
  • Prepare detailed month-end general ledger account reconciliations for required accounts
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports for management as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly forecast process
  • Participate in annual budgeting process - To include overhead budgeting, as well as activity price setting and standard costing
  • Support Supply Chain in ensuring proper setup of of BOMs and Routings for new products, and validation of existing BOMs/Routings
  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Apply general accounting principles in the preparation and analysis of financial information
  • Provide pre-audit and audit support
  • Participate in or lead special projects as required
  • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and cost center management reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual schedules
  • Analyze and investigate variances and prepare reconciliation vs. budget, actual, forecast and prior year's results
  • Complete Special projects and non-routine assignments as may be required by management

III: Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • CPA preferred or working towards certification
  • 3-5 years' experience, preferably with some experience in a manufacturing environment (Process/Batch production experience is a plus)
  • Experience and knowledge of GAAP and SOX
  • Prior experience in Public Accounting is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP strongly preferred)

Type/keyboard, lift/carry 10 lbs, and pull 10 lbs. Use phone, fax, copier, and computer. Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, problem solve, make decisions, plan, communicate, prepare written communications, and prepare transaction documents. May involve national and international travel.
