PREREQUISITES - Minimum 10 years experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical industry. Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales management experience with documented leadership accolades. This is a field-based job that will cover the East Region of the US and travel will be required when deemed safe by the organization.

This is an opportunity to join the growing US Immunology Business at BMS and build a best in class Regional Sales Organization to support the launch of Zeposia in Ulcerative Colitis. With the launch BMS will enter its third Therapeutic Area within Immunology and will represent our first entry into the GI space, creating the foundation for future GI indications for both Zeposia and Tyk2.

With an anticipated launch date in 2021, this leader will act with urgency and with passion to build out a best in class, diverse team of sales professionals to support this important launch for BMS and most importantly for UC patients who need this important therapeutic option.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Build a best in class regional sales organization
  • Sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and training District Business Managers and Territory Business Managers
  • Ensuring talent recruited represents a truly diverse team of professionals to enhance our competitiveness and innovation
  • Building a team that can succeed within the "new norm" in our external environment
  • Working with sales leadership, continue to drive the evolution of our sales force capabilities to meet the changing external environment and ensure success of the launch
  • Develop and implement area business plan in line with brand strategy to support this launch
  • Meet or exceed sales goals, maximize promotional budgets, and execute the national sales strategy in accordance with BMS polices
  • Serve as a role model for Best in Class Compliance and hold region accountable for Compliance by ensuring all practices within region are compliant with the BMS Compliance Code of Conduct, PhRMA Code, OIG Guidelines, PDMA Policies and Procedures and all other applicable laws, regulations, policies & procedures
  • Identify opportunities in the market place, share best practices, and proactively communicate strategies to cross-functional partners and members of US Leadership Team. Manage implementation of all promotional activities to support sales and marketing strategies, in accordance with BMS promotional policies
  • Act as a player/coaching by building and sustaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Drive succession planning, diversity, aspirational goal achievement, talent retention efforts, pipelining as necessary for external talent. Take a leadership role in creating a respectful & inclusive work environment while role modeling the BMS values, fostering geographical and cultural diversity and an inclusive work environment


Skills/Knowledge:
  • Minimum 10 years of broad based, cross-functional experience in pharmaceutical sales required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Working knowledge of geographic condition / customer base
  • Understanding of environmental and industry trends, and impact on business
  • Top performance in field sales and field sales management
  • Experience building and leading teams of diverse backgrounds
  • Participation in the development and implementation of strategy on a geographic or product basis
  • As this position requires operation of a Company-provided vehicle, offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate meeting the requirements of "Qualified Driver," as determined by the Company in its sole discretion, including but not limited to the following: 1) at least 21 years of age; 2) a driver's license in good standing issued by your state of residence; and 3) a driving risk level deemed acceptable by the Company.
