SUMMARY: Assist with small molecule NCEs' analytical method development, drug substance and drug product characterization, supportive testing and investigation to assist with formulation and process development.

  • Carries out multiple tasks to support analytical, formulation and process development.
  • Designs and implements experiments in area of expertise
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and test methods, as needed
  • Ensures compliance with safe laboratory practices and EH&S guidelines.
  • Documents experimental processes and data in laboratory notebook
  • Works cross-functionally with process chemistry, formulations development, and quality control groups to execute assignments if necessary. Works with outside vendors, as needed.
  • Presents and discusses results in group meetings


  • BS/BA degree in chemistry; or,
  • MS/MA degree in organic/analytical chemistry; or,
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Typically requires minimum of Five (5) to Eight (8) years of experience in analytical development
  • Extensive hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC and dissolution method development is required
  • Experience on various analytical techniques such as IC, LCMS, GC, ICP-MS, Karl Fischer Titration, DSC/TGA, particle size, XRPD, etc. is desired.
  • Experience with safe laboratory practices and EH&S guidelines

  • Be able to select appropriate analytical techniques to design and execute experiments for assigned projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team setting on assigned projects.
  • Be able to clearly and concisely present and explain testing results to internal audiences from cross functional team members.
  • Excellent technical and laboratory skills to execute analyses efficiently and reliably.
  • Good organizational skills with ability to work in a high paced team environment, meet deadlines and prioritize work on multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
