Job Details
The Master Data Manager role is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timely creation of Material Master Data in Amgen's SAP system. The role requires strategic thought leadership in enabling business processes, acumen of information flow across multiple systems, and leadership skills to govern the material creation/maintenance process.
The ideal candidate will need both a technical and business understanding of Supply Chain & Operations processes and have expertise on the master data that pertains to them. The candidate preferably should also have experience in SAP Material Master Data Governance and Data Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies, guidelines, business definitions, metrics, and standards for handling material information
- Maintain documentation and be the SME on data definitions, data flows, legacy data structures, access rights models, etc.
- Analyze master data and Identify business processes impacting or impacted by data quality
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process optimization solutions based on standard methodologies while driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Improve adherence to critical metrics pertaining to data accuracy and process SLA adherence
- Govern and evolve current data integration standards policies and procedures
The role will also include the following tasks:
- Leading Master Data Governance activities, ensuring quality of outcomes and adherence to timelines
- Operationalizing the Data Governance roadmap
- Building and maintaining the data dictionary/catalog, data reviews and other sustainment processes.
- Mapping data sources and collaborating with business/technical stewards to find opportunities to automate data collection
- Performing data audits and reporting out to business partners
- Crafting quality checks, defining and maintaining business rules, and performance reporting and visualization
- Developing operation management plans and updating procedures and other training materials
- Owing SAP material creation workflow and system administrative processes
- Participating in data clean-up efforts and material obsolescence process
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences, Business, Finance, Operations and/or Supply Chain
OR
Master's Degree and 2 years of experience in Master Data Governance
OR
Bachelor's Degree and 4years of experience in Master Data Governance
OR
Associates degree and 10 years of experience in Master Data Governance
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in Master Data Governance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of related experience in Material Master Data Governance and SAP ERP
- Established expertise and knowledge of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and GMP processes
- Strong data analysis and critical thinking skills
- Prior experience leading process change and/or systems implementation strongly preferred
- Determined ability to form relationships, collaborate and influence across a multifunctional matrix organization
- Ability to effect change and build consensus on definitions with groups of individuals representing different viewpoints
- Ability and willingness to understand and represent the total-enterprise perspective
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects and to be accountable for individual results
- Organized and achievement oriented to continuously drive performance
- Expertise in SQL, Tableau or like platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills
