PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

This job contributes to success of our Bothell, WA manufacturing plant by helping to lead the adoption and implementation of a standard continuous improvement approach in a CAR-T cell Therapy GMP environment across all site business processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and coach employee population on Lean and Six Sigma project life cycle and tools.
  • Seen as the go to resource for to shift mindset and thinking in the continuous improvement space.
  • Reinforce learning culture as a key priority of Operational Excellence.
  • Principle leader in developing and promoting an organic continuous improvement capability over time, including embedding standard work and visual management in day-to-day processes.
  • Key facilitator of change for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Educates and coach Senior Leaders in the use of process improvement tools, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies and project management skills.
  • Owner of training, responsible for implementation and management BB, GB, YB training program.
  • Leads effort across the business to identify improvement opportunities.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent
  • Certified in proven methodologies such as: LEAN/Six Sigma; Green Belts Belt, or Black Belt (or equivalent) desirable.


Experience
  • 3 years minimum relevant work experience, in a regulated environment
  • Experience leading improvement projects on the manufacturing floor such as eliminating defects, improving cycle time, and root cause analysis.
  • Proven track record of implementing change within support functions of the business.
  • Source of imaginative, thorough, and innovative solutions to a wide range of difficult problems on the production floor.
  • Is able to lead through influence andchange manage projects at the production floor level.
  • Demonstrated history of developing improvement to site / division initiatives.
  • Creates an environment that encourages continuous improvement, best practices and appropriate risk taking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Written and verbal communication skills are critical - Must be articulate and able to communicate with and influence employees at all levels across the organization. Must also be able to write technical documents that will be presented to agencies.


Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations and FDA guidance applicable to biologics and cell therapy manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in project management, facilitation, and change management.
  • Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement programs with quantifiable business results.

  • Advanced facilitation skills and change agent abilities.
  • Ability to lead people indirectly and through influence.
  • Proficient in analyzing data to make fact-based decisions and develop long-range vision with progressive business plans.
