Description:

Coastar Therapeutics is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated research associate with molecular biology background to join the multidisciplinary R&D team. The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing experiments in support of the biological membrane coated virus development. The candidate will also be involved in developing and validating collaborating projects to support Coastar’s fast-growing preclinical pipelines. The successful candidate must demonstrate broad and in-depth knowledge of molecular biology techniques. This is a full-time position reporting to the CSO and is located at our corporate headquarter in San Diego.

 

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive molecular characterization of cells, enzymes and viruses.

• Design, generate, and produce cell membrane materials using scalable technologies.

• Communicate research and development findings in cross-disciplinary team meetings as well as with external partners.

• Perform established in-process control and release assays to support pilot process development

• Detailed record keeping, data interpretation, and presentation to functional and project teams

• Ordering and maintaining stocks of lab reagents and samples

Qualifications:

• M.S. or B.S. degree with 1~3 years relevant experience in academia or industry.

• Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques, including ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, tissue culture, plate reader, enzyme-based assays, etc.

• Experience in working with virus is a plus.

• Excellent communication, time management, record keeping, presentation, and data analysis skills

• The ability to successfully pursue an individual research project while helping other groups on development.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Will require working with blood, tissues and cell lines of human and animal origin

• On-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA

• Occasional travelling will be required (<10%)
