Packaging Engineer III - Branchburg, NJ

*YOU ARE more than just a title, YOU ARE... responsible for designing, developing and implementing components used for the packaging of incoming raw materials, final product and finished good shipments. The Packaging Engineer III is also responsible for the design and coordination of thermal qualification and distribution testing per ISO11607. The Packaging Engineer III will also manage and implement changes to graphics, component specifications and associated quality documentation.

YOU WILL:

Excel as a packaging expert. You will select, test and implement proper primary and secondary packaging per ISO 11607; research, recommend, develop, and approve new packaging materials and systems to accommodate marketing needs and company goals. You will prepare product for required ISO 11607 studies including but not limited to stability, distribution, sterility, biocompatibility, endotoxin, temperature-controlled shipping systems. You will research and recommend packaging machinery. You will assist with continuous improvement of department procedures to increase compliance and efficiency of the team. You will provide audit support and technical assessments related to Packaging Engineering subjects. You will lead or contribute to Project Teams consisting of members from Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Vendors, and C ontract Packagers - across geographies -- to ensure project success.

Build bridges . You will interface with Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Procurement and Graphics vendors to implement new and revised labelling. You will work with Suppliers to develop and write specifications for purchase and approval of all packaging components to ensure uniformity and compliance of components. You will manage projects and interface with management and marketing groups to properly implement packaging components and packaging. You will work closely with Quality, Production and Procurement investigating component issues and completing quality investigations in a timely manner. You will collaborate with Suppliers, Production and Marketing to develop novel packaging. You will attend packaging tradeshows to keep abreast of new ideas and industry trends.

Qualifications

YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related degree
  • Experience with ISO 11607 required
  • Minimum 4 years of package engineering experience within medical, pharmaceutical or other regulated industry
  • Experience with design and approval of distribution package testing
  • Experience with Cold Chain logistics and temperature-controlled shipping
  • Experience in supporting audits, non-conformances and CAPAs
  • Experience working with graphics changes
  • Experience with developing and writing specifications for purchase and approval of all packaging components
  • Demonstrated project management, presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with SolidWorks, ArtiosCad, Adobe Illustrator, PAMS and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
