The Executive Director, Medical Affairs Strategy is a regionally-based versatile, flexible, and experienced professional with medical oncology expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience working across several functions in oncology. The focus of the role will be to develop a strategy and drive execution of medical deliverables to incorporate the voice of the patient into Mirati's plans and ensure optimal access solutions throughout the asset development and commercialization. Specific responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific leadership as Study director for Early access/compassionate use programs, ph IV studies, or other medical evidence data generation efforts (eg, real world evidence)
- Partner with R&D, medical, commercial/access, and senior leadership to develop a strategy that ensures the patient voice is embedded into the clinical development and launch plans
- Establish and maintain key patient advocacy group relationships including those across multiple tumors (eg, NSCLC, CRC, pancreatic cancer) in the US and EU inform and engage the key partners across the lifecyle of Mirati's assets
- Provide medical leadership in the development of the value proposition strategy for Mirati's assets across several stakeholders, including patients, payers, HTAs, access decision makers/ influencers, and providers
- Lead execution of medical deliverables that demonstrates the value proposition such as data generation (eg, unmet need, PROs, real world evidence)
- Lead execution of medical deliverables that communicates on the value proposition and differentiation such as publication, dossiers, and other content/tools
- Share insights and collaborate internally with cross-functional team members (eg, commercial, payer/access, clinical development) that inform their respective strategies
- Stay abreast of new developments around innovation and policy (US, ex-US) that may influence the continuum of care in the healthcare landscape (e.g., policy updates, medical congresses, literature, social media, etc.)
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in life sciences
- 10+ years professional experience with deep oncology experience
- Broad experience in one or ideally multiple functions including medical affairs, clinical research (early access programs), HEOR/payer/value/access, and/or patient advocacy
- Demonstrated experience in building credible relationships with external and internal partners
- Strong track record of execution and operational effectiveness
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and prioritize appropriately
- Team orientated and ability to work collaboratively towards common objectives
- Embraces an agile and flexible mindset as focus and role/responsibility may evolve over time
- Strong organizational skills
- Travel may be required up to 30% of your time
