About Us:

We are an early stage, Arch Ventures backed CNS company creating the next generation of treatments for neurodegenerative CNS disorders. We are addressing significant unmet needs in neurodegeneration, including in rare CNS diseases, through the discovery and development of a pipeline of novel, brain-penetrant, small molecule therapeutics.  Our company is located in the San Diego area and led by a highly experienced management team.

Primary Responsibilities:

In the role the successful candidate will set up key in vitro assays to drive drug discovery program for our novel CNS-targeted drugs.  Key assays will include cell-based screening and mechanistic assays with the support of a research associate.  Development of an organotypic tissue assay will be a key immediate role for the candidate.  There is a potential for project leadership and this role may manage a Research Associate.  In addition, this role may be responsible to manage our laboratory facility.

Experience:

  • PhD (or equivalent)
  • 4-10 years’ relevant experience in drug discovery (post post-doc)
  • Experience with cell-based assay development and screening
  • Technical skills including cell culture and PCR are required; experience with tissue-slice based assays is a benefit
  • Strong data analysis and documentation management skills
  • Strong communication skills are required.  Successful candidate will be expected to present results to leadership team.
