Job Description

Execute microbiology projects to support method development for a Quality Control Laboratory. Perform data analysis and aid in implementation.

Main Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

- Lab instrumentation: Utilize required instruments for project completion.

- Basic aseptic technique: Assure proper aseptic technique is utilized.

- Cultivation of diverse microorganisms.

- Train on routine microbiological methods including dilutions, plating, and counting microorganism samples.

- Data analysis: Record and analyze data and prepare reports.

- Data implementation: Assist in implementing collected data and project results.

Education/Experience

Enrolled in a 4-year university with progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Microbiology or related field. Student must have completed sophomore year at the beginning of summer, 2020.

- Practical laboratory experience with knowledge of aseptic technique

- Microbiological laboratory technique

- Laboratory instrumentation knowledge

- Understanding of microbiological cultivation and isolation techniques

- Ability to keep accurate and complete laboratory records and logs.

- Proficient in MS Office

- Research and review of applicable literature

- Experience working in group setting

- Interest in exploring new methods and technologies
