Summary:

The Aging group is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat Age-Related Disorders through an enhanced understanding of Aging. We are seeking a research associate with experiences in molecular and cellular biology and mouse and/or rat pharmacology. The successful candidate will be involved in validating and advancing various pre-clinical model projects for Age-Related Disorders of various types. This individual will perform in vivo and some in vitro work related to the projects and needs to be highly organized, flexible and motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and perform in-vivo and ex-vivo assays; some in vitro bench work may also be necessary.

• Dose compounds by various routes and draw blood (orbital, tail, submandibular) in mice and rats

• Perform ex vivo analysis (ELISA, western blotting, immunohistochemistry)

• Primary cell and cell line experiments, including transfection and transduction

• Handle aged mice and/or rats.

• Write protocols and study reports

• Perform analyses on data.

Requirements:

This position requires a Minimum of a Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience working in a lab. This experience must include:

• Mouse and/or rat pharmacology experiments

• Immunoassays

• Cell biology

• Molecular biology

The ideal candidate will have in-depth in vivo technical expertise, be hardworking, flexible, innovative and able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team.

Level will be commensurate with experience.

This position will require the candidate to pass a physical before starting.
