Amgen's Global Learning and Performance Group is looking for a Senior Manager Inflammation - Global Training & Development (Medical) for our Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters campus. Candidates with prior Amgen experience may be considered for remote locations.

We have world-class cross-functional staff across the globe including sales and marketing, regional medical liaisons, oncology nurse specialists and customer account teams to ensure our discoveries go from bench to bedside.

Reporting to the Director, Global Learning & Performance R&D, Global Therapeutic Knowledge (GTK), the Senior Manager will be responsible for designing, developing, managing, and implementing high quality training curricula and programs for the Global Medical staff (Medical Science Liaisons (MSL), Global Medical Communications, Global Medical Writing and Medical Directors). The position will focus on training and performance needs for Otezla and relevant disease states including psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, liaising with the MSL, Med Comm and Medical partners globally to drive the training strategy, enable high performing medical staff, develop therapeutic training and curriculum activities, and lead new hire training. The candidate will work closely with internal (e.g., Global Medical, Global Medical Communications, Medical Science Liaisons) and external groups (e.g., suppliers, opinion leaders) to develop and execute these training programs. Some travel may be required-usually 20%.

Basic qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of clinical and/or biotech/pharmaceutical experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of clinical and/or biotech/pharmaceutical experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of clinical and/or biotech/pharmaceutical experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of clinical and/or biotech/pharmaceutical experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of clinical and/or biotech/pharmaceutical experience

Preferred qualifications:
  • A professional degree of Pharm.D., PhD, or MD with 5 or more years of biotech/pharmaceutical and or clinical experience
  • Understanding of training methodology and design
  • Experience in Inflammation therapeutic areas (Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis)
  • Excellent technical writing, oral, presentation, and project management skills and the ability to search, critically analyze, and summarize scientific literature.
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the legal and regulatory guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products.
  • Ability to interface cross-functionally in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
