Scientist - Inflammation Research

The Department of Inflammation Research is seeking a highly motivated scientist to discover novel targets and develop innovative therapies in IBD, asthma, COPD, and other inflammatory diseases.

You will perform cutting edge research to investigate disease driving molecular and cellular mechanisms in inflammatory diseases and will collaborate with a dynamic research team from multiple Amgen functional areas, including Therapeutic Discovery and Medical Sciences.

Position Responsibilities

Identify and validate discovery targets using human genetics, single cell transcriptomics, cellular assays and/or inflammatory disease models
Lead and/or support project teams in collaboration with scientists from multiple functional areas
Publish and present at national/international conferences

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree plus 4 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications
PhD with strong knowledge and research experience in the field of mucosal immunology
Capability in performing both in vitro and in vivo experiments
Technical expertise in molecular and cellular biology and multi-color flow cytometry, and mouse inflammatory disease models
Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record and/or significant contributions to a therapeutic development program
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative
