Summary:
We are seeking a Research Associate to join the VI Next Group of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. at Tarrytown, NY. The successful candidate will support on-going research initiatives towards generating, characterizing, and optimizing novel genetically engineered mouse models, as well as be involved in identifying and developing antibodies against clinical targets in collaboration with other researchers across Regeneron. Ideal candidates should have solid knowledge in immunology and genetics, as well as lab experience in cellular immunology and molecular biology.

Responsibilities:
In order to characterize new and existing VelocImmune Next mouse models and screen antibodies in vitro, successful candidates will need to:
- Properly handle and care for mice including performing general immunizations, surgical techniques, as well as collecting blood and tissue samples
- Utilize in vitro systems, including cell culture (both primary cells and established cell lines)
- Have experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning (including Cas9 & Gibson assembly)
- Be familiar with protein-based assays such Bradford, ELISA, and Western blotting.
- Experience with multi-color flow cytometry is a plus
- Generate experimental reports and maintain accurate records in an electronic notebook
- Critically analyze data; use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems; make suggestions leading to potential improvements; design new experiments
- Analyze data using biological and statistical software, such as FlowJo, MacVector, Sequencher, Prism, etc

Additionally, successful candidates should also be able to
- Integrate novel technologies to increase work efficiency; optimize current protocols and develop new techniques/assays.
- Document experimental procedures and results in a well-organized fashion; present current project progress at group and department meetings; contribute in drafting of protocols, method development reports, and research articles.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree is a minimum, with 2-5 years research lab experience
Candidates should have a strong passion in biological science and technology, and is willing to continually learn.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of genetics and molecular biology. Experience in wet-lab molecular biology, cell culture and cell-based assays.
Candidates should have basic computer skills including using Microsoft Office, Pubmed, and Genbank. They should also be able to keep full experimental records in a timely and well-organized fashion. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
2-3 years of experience in the area of Molecular Biology or Immunology
