Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I with a strong interest in using small animal models to study disease. Routine tasks in this position will involve mouse work, including colony maintenance, tissue processing, and other aspects of mouse models (e.g. surgery, imaging, primary cell harvests), but also culturing of mammalian cell lines and basic molecular biology techniques. The individual in this position should have a bachelors degree in the biosciences and general laboratory experience. His or her time will be split between two labs and therefore will be responsible for managing several projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field

1+ years of hands-on lab experience (in addition to any lab coursework that was part of an undergraduate/masters curriculum)

Strong foundation in basic cell and molecular biology

Familiar with molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture

Experience with handling mice is desired

Outstanding communication skills, close attention to detail, the capacity to work on several projects in parallel, and the ability to work as a team player
