Research Scientist, in vivo Pharmacology and Target ID

The individual hired into this position will join the Discovery Pharmacology and In Vivo Biology Group at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Cambridge, MA and aid the advancement of early stage therapeutic targets at the intersection of tumor genetics, tumor immunobiology and resistance biology. The successful candidate will possess experience in tumored mouse models and in vitro lab techniques and leverage these skills to drive in vivo target identification efforts in cancer.

The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative individual who possesses the ability to work across a highly matrixed environment to discover new biology and drive new therapeutic target identification and validation in vivo.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

A B.S. with a minimum of 7 years, or a M.S. with a minimum of 4 years of post-graduate industry/academic research experience in cancer biology, cellular and molecular biology, or a closely related field, is required. Experience in immuno-oncology research is a plus.

In collaboration with colleagues in Oncology Discovery New Target Biology, contribute to the design and execution of in vivo pooled genetic screens to identify and validate new targets that modulate immune function and/or tumor cell biology.

Skilled at independently running and analyzing data from tumored mouse models (e.g. anti-tumor efficacy and PK/PD studies) is required.

Additional required in vivo skills include: xenograft or syngeneic tumor model development, dosing (IV, IP, SC, PO routes), tumor measurement by caliper, blood collection, and tissue/tumor collection at necropsy.

Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture is required.

Experience with the following is highly desired but not required: lentivirus production and transduction, generation and maintenance of stable cell lines, general molecular biology techniques including CRISPR, or ex vivo techniques (e.g. qPCR, ELISA/MSD).

Attention to details, excellent organizational skills and accurate record keeping are requirements.

Proficiency in utilizing software such as GraphPad, Microsoft office for data analysis and figure generation is required.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-faced and dynamic environment is essential.

Effective communication of work, plans and progress using written and verbal communication in small and group settings.
