ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for leadership and oversight of a wide range of global S&M activities, supporting the S&M Group as well as HR, Finance, Facilities, Executive Management, IT, Legal, and manufacturing. Sales and marketing may include but are not limited to; commercial launch spending, revenue forecasting, sales operations, and business development activities. In addition, the position will be responsible designing, advancing, integrating, financial systems constantly advancing tools to support the Finance team. This role primarily supports G&A and manufacturing, partnering with the Chief Administrative Officer as well as the functional heads within these groups. The individual will also provide secondary support for sales and marketing teams as well.
The Associate Director, SG&A & Systems Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as an integral business partner and resource to the SG&A team, providing overall financial support and guidance, including: ensuring the integrity, consistency and transparency of reported and forecasted financial information, supporting the decision-making process by providing insightful analyses and strategic guidance and developing and promoting strong relationships between the SG&A team and other functional areas. Additional responsibilities include preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly management reports for internal and external purposes and integrating the implementation of new systems, processes, and procedures
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Primary finance liaison with assigned franchise businesses
- Primary owner of financial systems working with partners to integrate and automate databases while providing recommendations on systems strategy, infrastructure, and architecture.
- Own the development of all corporate financial planning including quarterly forecasts, annual budget, and 3-5 years Strategic Plan for assigned franchised business
- Own all strategic modeling for budgets and forecast effectively communicating findings to franchise owners
- Consolidates R&D financials into the overall Santen Inc. financial planning and reporting systems.
- Lead strategic analysis and interpretation of financial plans.
- Leads and project manages implementation of new corporate financial reporting and planning tools; maintain tool for Santen Incorporated to provide fast, reliable and informative data for management decision-making.
- Provide detailed MTD, QTD, and YTD financial analysis, management reporting, and financial summaries for both internal and external purposes for assigned franchises
- Manage and communicate assigned franchise financial contract accruals for month-end-close.
- Assists finance initiatives for manufacturing and supply. Works with the franchise to develop processes and systems to support go to market activities.
- Lead monthly budget review meetings with assigned franchises; significantly contribute to manage actual spend to agreed budgets and forecasts.
- Primary systems liaison with Japan (HQ), contribute to improvements of global systems and or processes
- Perform other duties as necessary as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years related experience. Pharmaceutical industry and MBA strongly preferred.
- Experience of leading strategic planning processes, in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries preferred.
- Experience with administering financial planning and analyses systems; including implementations, business process documentation, system requirements/configuration along with training and end user support.
- Experience with report writing in SAP, BPC, and SQL preferred
- Experience in cost accounting and gross to net accounting desired.
- Ability to work in global diverse environment and resolve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with non-financial managers and all levels of personnel and management to senior executive level.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and application of business planning and analysis techniques.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; energetic, flexible, a team player, with a positive “can do” attitude.
- Able to take the lead on managing projects and or processes with little direction
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, (Power point, Excel, outlook) is required
- Knowledge of TM1, SAP, SAP-BPC, and CRM tools
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across functions.
